Privacy Policy for GeoFill: World Quiz

Overview

GeoFill: World Quiz ("the App") is a free geography quiz game with no advertisements, developed by Teemu Paunonen. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and what is stored only on your device.

What We Do NOT Collect

The App never collects or transmits:

Your name, email address, or any contact information
Account credentials — there is no login or registration
Your location or GPS data
Advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID and Android SSAID are disabled)
Any text you type while playing — your answers are never sent anywhere
Personal identifiers of any kind

Anonymous Analytics (Firebase)

      The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous,
      aggregated usage statistics. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
      IP addresses are automatically anonymised by Firebase before storage.
      No advertising identifiers are collected.
    

The following events are sent to Firebase:

Firebase Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and stored on Google's servers, which may be located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Google's processing is governed by its Privacy Policy and the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in understanding how the App is used so we can improve it (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data only on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage):

Your best completion times for each game mode
Your best scores for each game mode
Your selected interface language

This data never leaves your device and is permanently deleted when you uninstall the App.

Third-Party Links

The App contains a link to Ko-fi (ko-fi.com) for voluntary donations. Tapping this link opens your device browser and is governed by Ko-fi's Privacy Policy. We have no access to any data you provide on Ko-fi.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The anonymous analytics described above do not constitute personal data collection within the meaning of COPPA or GDPR.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to object to the processing of your data on grounds of legitimate interest. Because all analytics data is fully anonymous and not linked to any identifier, we are unable to retrieve or delete data for a specific individual. If you wish to opt out of analytics entirely, you can do so through your device's system settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or by limiting ad tracking), which also prevents Firebase from associating any installation-level identifiers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality changes. The latest version is always available at the URL where this page is hosted. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when material changes were last made.
